Saki Kodama

Violin

Saki Kodama started playing the violin when she was three years old under professor Shigeru Matsumoto. At the age of 11, she became a member of the young orchestra of the city of Toyota, and began studying with the members of the “Sawa Quartet”. She studied at the Kikuzato High School of Music in the class of professor Yoko Morishita from 2001, after graduating in 2004 she continued her studies at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Geidai), in the class of professor Takashi Shimizu. During her studies in Tokyo, Saki was a member of various chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras, where she also performed as a soloist, and participated in international master classes in Europe.

 

In 2008, she graduated from the University in the class of Prof. David Nolan, and received the Doseikai award as one of the best students. Then she continued her studies under Prof. Leonid Sorokow in Zagreb. During her two years of study at the Zagreb Academy of Music, she performed with the Zagreb Philharmonic as a soloist, had solo concerts and recitals in Japan and Croatia, and began performing in the Zagreb Soloists.
