Antal Papp was born in 1978 in Koprivnica. He started playing the double bass at the age of 25, when he got his first lesson with prof. Dragutina Dances at Varaždin Secondary Music School. In 2003, he entered the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of prof. After graduation, Maria Ivelje began working in the HRT Symphony Orchestra.
In 2009, Antal moved to Freiburg, where he began training at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg under the respected prof. Bože Paradžika soon began working at the Philharmonisches Orchester Freiburg.
At that time he cooperated with many orchestras such as Swr Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg, Lucerner Sinfonieorchester, Sudwestdeutschen Kammerorchester Pforzheim, Württembergischen Kammerorchesters Heilbronn.
Since 2016 he is a member of the Zagreb Philharmonic as deputy leader of the double bass.
2022. 2022 he became a solo bass player in the renowned ensemble of Zagreb soloists, and in the same year, he started working at the Music Academy as a double bass assistant.
