Đana Kahriman

Violin

Đana Kahriman was born in 1989 in Dubrovnik. At the age of seven, he started learning the violin at Luka Sorkočević’s Art School, in the class of prof. Ivančice Kalanj. In 2011, she graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb, in the class of prof. Leonid Sorokowa, with whom she continued her artistic training.

 

She is a multiple winner of first prizes at national competitions for music and dance students, as well as at international Etude and Scale competitions in Zagreb, Rudolf Matz in Dubrovnik, Beethoven in St. Poelten, Verdi notes in Rome and the International Violin Competition in Astana.

 

Among the solo concerts, performances at the Dubrovnik Summer Games, Osor Musical Evenings, Samobor Musical Autumn, Musical Evenings in St. Donat, the Croatian Music Festival in Vienna, the Franjo Krežma Memorial, the Virtuoso cycle, the Amadeo Music Scene, the Music Biennale, the Festival of Young Musicians in Lithuania, the promotion of Dubrovnik in New York.

 

She has performed with orchestras such as Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Sarajevo Philharmonic, Kaunas Philharmonic, Zagreb Philharmonic, HRT Symphony Orchestra, Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, Zadar Chamber Orchestra and Zagreb Soloists.

 

She won the Stjepan Šulek award for her performance of Piazzolla’s Seasons at the closing of the 64th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, accompanied by the string orchestra of the Croatian Musical Youth under the direction of Pavel Zajcev.

 

She trained at seminars with distinguished pedagogues such as Leonid Sorokow, Marina Sorokowa, Goran Končar, Armin Sešek, Grigorij Zhislin, Alexander Vinnitski, Zakhar Bron, Boris Kuschnir, Viktor Tretyakov.

 

She has been a member of the Zagreb Soloists since 2011, and concertmaster of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra since 2015.
